Grief is one of the most shared human experiences because we all go through it at some point. And yet many find comfort not in other human companionship, but in their pets. These are the stories of grieving Canadians, but surviving thanks to their little friends.

Canadian filmmaker and social media influencer Ian Bawa loves to share his stories on the screen (both big and small). His greatest success to-date is a short film called Strong Son, starring his own father. After its release, Ian’s world came crashing down as a year and half ago his father passed away unexpectedly.

While Ian was in the lowest depths of grief and despair, a shining light came into his life: Diamond. Diamond is a one-eyed yellow Labrador/Husky that Ian had initially signed up to foster, but soon realized there was no way to let go of this dog - Diamond is his everything.

In this docu-series Ian and Diamond will travel the country to meet others like them, exploring the special relationship between humans and their support animals. Tales of grief and redemption found in the love of the smallest confidantes. These will be stories filled with sadness, laughter and perspective.
