Sorry For Your Loss Begins Production

Farpoint Films and Middle Child Films announced that principal photography has commenced on Sorry For Your Loss (SFYL), from writer/director Collin Friesen (The Big White). The film stars Bruce Greenwood (Star Trek), Justin Bartha (The Hangover) and Inbar Lavi (Imposters). Filming will take place in Winnipeg in May for four weeks.

SFYL is the story of new dad, Ken, played by Bartha, who returns home to bury his estranged father only to have things take a turn for the complicated as the dead man's final wish is to have his ashes scattered on the field of his beloved football team.

Greenwood plays the estate's executor, Jeff, a slick, politically incorrect salesman who helps Ken with his father's ashes while secretly courting Ken's mom.

Lavi plays Lori, Ken's wife, a harried new mother with a sharp wit who speaks her mind and really needs her husband to snap out of his postpartum funk.

“Look at this freakin' cast,” said Friesen. “Clearly my collection of actor-pictures-in-compromisingpositions has finally paid off.”

Bartha, repped by CAA and MGMT Entertainment, is known for roles in The Hangover trilogy and CBS’s The Good Fight. Greenwood, repped by Gersh, is known for films and TV shows such as Star Trek and The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story. Bartha and Greenwood previously worked together in National Treasure: Book Of Secrets. Lavi, represented by ICM and Justice &
Ponder, stars in BRAVO’s hit series Imposters as well as Prison Break: Sequel on Fox.

SFYL was developed through the Canadian Film Centre's Telefilm Canada Feature Comedy Exchange.

SFYL is produced by Tony Wosk of Toronto-based Middle Child Films and Kyle Bornais of Winnipeg’s Farpoint Films. Executive Producers include Jeff Sackman and Berry Meyerowitz. The film was financed by Aqute Media, Telefilm Canada, Manitoba Film & Music, Bell Media The Movie Network, and the Harold Greenberg Fund.
