Contestants are pitted in a race to the finish against an expert wilderness tracker.
Two acquaintances called "The Prey" are placed in a different location of the Canadian wilderness each episode. They are given a map with a starting point and ending location approx. 40 kilometers away. The prey are given 36 hours to reach the ending location by any means, and by any route necessary. The "Mantracker" Terry Grant and sidekick (usually a new one per episode) will then attempt to capture the prey while on horseback before they reach the finish line using various expert tracking skills.—Brian Potters

S1.E1 ∙ Jeff and Magnus
Magnus Mulliner and Jeff Bremner attempt to reach their destination 40 km away while eluding capture from Mantracker, in his home province, and his sidekick TJ Maynard.
S1.E2 ∙ Liisa and Nicolina
Liisa and Nicolina, two young women with steely resolve, want to make this the toughest challenge Mantracker has ever faced. To make sure of that, they sacrifice their own physical and psychological fitness and drag this chase through a maze of thick bush and swamp. Mantracker's horses are in danger, and he's not happy about it. Nobody's safe in this twisted game of hide and seek.

'Team Aussie' is what Bruce calls his pairing with in-law and friend Sabrina. Mantracker is wary of the Aussie factor in this chase, believing "they're 3/4 crazy and 1/4 pure determination".

Two Barrie policemen prove serious adversaries for Mantracker on open hilly terrain near Big Beaver, Saskatchewan, Canada. Using their paramilitary training, fitness, & camo clothing, they leave Mantracker constantly struggling to keep up.

A break-dancer & a college girl born in Africa who have just started dating flee through Quebec's Laurentian Mountains near Sainte-Agathe.

A pair of college boys are nearly caught making fake trails, making an innuktuk, getting water, cramping from dehydration, and crossing a gravel pit North of Elliot Lake, Ontario.

These hard-core extremists call themselves the 'mountain dogs'. They have a few tricks up their sleeves and on their ski poles as they tackle Southern California's Big Bear Mountain and attempt to lose the trackers on their tail.

They're sisters, but definitely not two peas in a pod. Lauren is an aspiring opera singer, while Jessica is a fitness instructor. How these talents will help them escape Mantracker through the mountainous terrain is anyone's guess.
