Farpoint Films joins forces with comedy legend Kevin McDonald for his directorial debut, One Week Left

Farpoint Films announced today they will be producing the directorial feature debut of comedy legend, Kevin McDonald, ONE WEEK LEFT. The film was written by McDonald and will be distributed by Farpoint Distribution.

As one-fifth of the Kids In The Hall, McDonald helped to redefine sketch comedy and along the way became an in-demand voice actor and has appeared as a scene stealer in Seinfeld, Sorry for your Loss, News Radio, National Lampoon’s Senior Trip, and many more.

One Week Left is about an aging ex-rock star that is headed to jail for committing fraud against his best friend. Having one week before he heads off to the big house, he gets in his car and takes off on an “apology tour.”

Widely known as a unique, versatile comedian and character actor, McDonald is in the spotlight of One Week Left as writer, director and star.

“I’m starring in this too?! I must start reading those contracts. In that case, I guess I’m excited for all the hard work it’s going to take to bring this script to life,” said McDonald. “This is a story that literally couldn’t be done without me, so I’m excited to be working with myself – and Farpoint Films – on it.”

“When comedy legend Kevin McDonald asks you to be a part of his first film, you jump at the chance to help bring his unrivalled sense of humor to audiences around the world,” said Farpoint Films executive producer, Kyle Bornais. “We’ve admired Kevin for a long time and are thrilled to be a part of One Week Left.”

Recently, McDonald has been pushing comedy boundaries in his podcast, Kevin McDonald’s Kevin McDonald Show, while also helping a new generation of comedians by teaching comedy across North America.

One Week Left will begin filming in 2025.
