Canada-Ireland Projects Receive €120000 In Funding

The Irish Film & Television Network - The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) and the Canada Media Fund (CMF) have announced financing of €120,000 to support the co-development of audio-visual content under the Canada-Ireland Co-development Incentive for Audio-Visual Projects.

Four Irish production companies will work with four Canadian companies in the development of the new projects.

IFTN spoke to Producer AnneMarie Naughton of Park Films to find out a little more about one of the projects The Week I Ruined My Life which they have received funding for and are co-producing with the Canadian production company Farpoint Films.

"We’re thrilled to be working with Caroline [Caroline Grace-Cassidy] on adapting her best seller book for the screen. It’s a strong story with a fair amount of dramatic incidents.  It has echoes of ‘Closer’ & ‘I Smile Back’. Modern relationships, flirtation, love triangles, independent women with a zest for life, art and a delicious glass of wine and ultimately the ongoing cultural trend in modern day relationships away from the traditional and towards individualism and self-fulfillment. We’re delighted to be co-producing on it with Farpoint Films in Winnipeg,” she said.
