Kyle Bornais was thrust into film business after a close friend enrolled him in a film studies class for his freshman University year. He walked into his first class thinking he was destined to become an English teacher but walked out knowing the motion picture industry was where he wanted to be.

Early in his studies at the University of Manitoba Kyle started cooking up a plan that would see him producing films at his own company. But first he needed to find an edge to ensure his success. Around that time he met John Barnard, a student with a keen creative flair for directing and editing films. One month later, the duo launched plans to build their motion picture business.

In February of 2000, Bornais and Barnard opened the doors to Farpoint Films Inc. and immediately began production on their first film Cemetery Love Story. Though the project was turned down by every funding agency in Canada, they made the most of what they had and self-financed the project. The film's success was immediate. In less than 2 years Cemetery had shown at nearly fifty international screenings, won numerous awards, and became the showcase product for Farpoint Films Inc.

Before Bornais would become a full-time Producer, he would work as a focus puller, video playback coordinator, production coordinator and production manager. Over the years he has made major contributions to more than 70 film productions including feature films, documentaries, short films, commercials, music videos and movies-for-television.

Bornais has recently focused his efforts on producing documentaries for Canadian television broadcaster CTV. He has also been busy developing the feature-length comedy entitled The Rich Guy in conjunction with the National Screen Institute's Features First program. He continues to produce and develop all of Barnard's shows as well as numerous films and television programs with directors and producers from around the globe.
